Happy Wednesday, everyone! I am back from my Catalina trip (blog on that soon) and am looking forward to enjoying the rest of my spring break. I wore this look one day on the island and was inspired to write a post on styling midi skirts! Since I am 5', I will also share one of my favorite stores to shop petite online and some of my favorite midi skirts from them now!
My Outfit:
This is the only petite skirt I own because I always thought skirts of this length would truncate my legs. When I saw this high-low style and minimal leopard print on ASOS I fell in love and decided to take the risk. I'm so glad I did because the skirt fit me perfectly! My favorite way to wear midi skirts is with a graphic tee. I just love the contrast of something so flowy and girly with a structured, or boxy top. I linked the outfit down below. Unfortunately, my skirt is sold out, but I still included it incase it comes back in stock.
Style Tips:
Midi skirts in general will make us shorties look a little taller than when wearing a maxi skirt. The key with any bottom is to show a little skin and wear something high-waisted. Midi skirts are meant to show a little ankle, and it's easy to pull them up to your desired height (just make sure the skirt isn't too high that you shorten your torso!) It also helps to wear a top that is cropped, or tucked in.
Try a heel or a sandal. The heel doesn't have to be high. The WhoWhatWear mule I wore was a comfortable height, but still tall enough to make me look a little less short. I suggest wearing a sandal because sneakers with long skirts will further shorten us petites. If you must wear a sneaker, try a low top or a platform. I've linked some of my favorite petite midi skirts from ASOS below, but they have a lot of great regular length skirts as well which you can find here. Shop ASOS Petite Skirts:

The first day of spring is FINALLY here, and I've been stocking up on spring shoes more than anything. I've been bringing out some old faves as well as trying new trends for the first time (hello Who What Wear mules above!) Today, I'm going to share a little bit of each, so let's jump right in!
Block-Heeled Slides
I've never loved the look of a short heel, but I made an exception for these since they're more like a sandal. They're comfy, easy to wear, and you can dress them up! The first pair are the ones I'm wearing above (:
Platform Espadrilles
I love a platform espadrille because they give you height without hurting your feet! The ones I'm wearing are from Charlotte Russe, so sadly they are no longer sold. However, there are so many different styles to try and they can be dressed up or down!
Strappy Sandals
Okay how cute are the Old Navy sandals? I love all the colors! Spring is the perfect time to add more color to your wardrobe (hello yellow!) I think this style of shoe is so cute and feminine.
patterned boots
Yes winter is over, but don't get rid of those boots just yet! They go so well with light-wash straight leg jeans and midi skirts in the spring. Plus, you can wear them in a classic spring pattern to make them more appropriate for the season!
Platform Sneakers
Okay, so I saw those white Converse and had to make this category because I need them and had to share?? lol aaanyways, these are not only great for giving my fellow shorties some height, but they also elongate your legs when wearing all those maxi skirts and dresses we see in the spring (win for everyone!)
Thanks so much for reading (: What is your favorite spring shoe trend? Let me know in the comments!
Happy Monday to all of you! This past weekend, my sister and I finally took photos in a flower field by my house. It bloomed soon after all the rain we got here in Corona, and it's perfect because it's hidden and not a lot of people know about it. When we arrived, there was only one other family which is pretty great as far as flower-field-photoshoots go this time of year. I kept my look simple with a white, crochet-lace dress which got me thinking about how much I love white for spring. A simple color (or lack thereof) is easier to wear than another trend or type of clothing because you can wear it in so many ways. Today, I'm sharing some of my favorite white pieces to buy to complete all your spring looks!
Denim, Tops, and More...
Thanks for reading!
Happy Friday, loves! As the rain pours outside, I can't help but think about how excited I am for spring/summer. While I do love the rain, the gloom is not the best for shooting and it's getting harder to drag my sister outside to take my pictures (blogger problems lol), so I've already begun thinking about spring outfits! One of the resolutions I made this year was to spend less on clothes, especially those pieces I only wear a few times. Instead, I'm choosing to focus on re-styling pieces I already own. Today, I'm sharing my top five items to help you transition to spring using pieces you may already have.
Mid to Light-Wash Denim
Personally, I've always loved the look of light-wash denim in the winter, so I've purchased quite a few lighter wash denim pieces these past few months. I think this trend transitions in to spring really well. Think light wash denim jackets paired with floral dresses or t-shirts and midi skirts! With the weather heating up, it may become difficult to wear those extra tight skinny jeans, so try a cropped cut or straight leg instead!
Gold Accessories
While I do love funky, colorful, and the occasional fruit earrings, gold earrings are great year-round pieces that go well with any look. Layered and minimal necklaces continue to be one of my favorite trends that I will continue to wear this spring as well.
Animal Print
Animal print made a big comeback this winter and I think it will fit right in this spring. Think snakeskin ankle boots with denim and maxi leopard skirts with graphic tees! Animal print is also a great alternative to the same floral print we see year after year.
Mules
Another reason I'm excited for spring is to bring out my no-nonsense shoes and sandals. Mules are another shoe you can easily slip on in seconds plus, they come in so many styles and prints! I say continue wearing those everyday mules you may already have, or try one of the pairs below that give more of a spring vibe.
A Light Perfume
I took to my own perfume collection for this category and linked all of my everyday favorites below. None of these are too fruity or floral, just soft, subtle smells that are great year round.
I hope you enjoyed this post! Have a great weekend (:
