Hello, all! Today's blog is the second installment in my Trendy Tuesday series (you can find the first one here) and I am focusing on plaid. If you've been in any clothing store lately, then I'm sure you've noticed all the plaid pieces on hangers and shelves. This print has become one of my favorite fall trends, and I love that you can wear it in so many ways from pants to blazers and even hair accessories! Keep reading to see how I styled this fall trend two ways and to see some more of my favorite plaid pieces.
oUTFIT 1: pLAID sKIRT
I found this adorable plaid skirt at Forever 21 which immediately inspired me to write this blog. Because it is a pencil skirt and I wore it to the mall, I didn't want to look too business-y (I'm making this a word, okay? lol), so I styled it down with a balloon-sleeved sweater (similar) and my black Vans. You can also style this skirt with a black blouse, pointed-toe pumps, and a solid, long-line blazer for a more business-casual look.
outfit 2: Plaid Pants
For my second outfit, I styled these plaid pants for a more casual look. I paired them with a button-up sweater tank (cute for fall and great when it's still warm!) and my white Topshop trainers. You can also shop my bag here (goes with anything and the bag inside may be switched out).
Don't Stop There...
Try a Blazer:
I still haven't found the right plaid blazer (the sleeves are ALWAYS too long *que eye roll*) buuut I love all of these and there are still so many to choose from! They are also so versatile as you can dress them up with pumps and trousers for the office or wear them casual with jeans and a graphic tee.
My favorite accessory here has to be the yellow scarf! How fun is that reversible print?!
Go All In:
It's hard to find a favorite here, but if I had to choose, I would go with the babydoll dress from Zara. Soooo freaking cute and I just might have to get it...

Happy Tuesday, everybody! Today's post is the first in my new series, Trendy Tuesday, where I will talk about one of my current favorite trends, and today I'm talking about pinafore dresses. I just think they're the perfect piece for those of us living with temperatures still shifting from warm to cool, but they can also be worn any season depending on the style. Keep reading to see how I style them for a cold or warm day.
Warm it up
For my first look, I styled this F21 pinafore dress for a cooler day by adding a cream balloon-sleeved sweater from Forever 21 underneath and a pair of tan ankle booties from Lulus. You can also style them with a high-neck top, chunky knit sweater, or tights for extra warmth!
Keep it Cool
One easy way to style a pinafore dress for warm weather is by wearing a basic tee and sneakers! I styled this F21 corduroy dress with a basic white tee and my lace up trainers from Topshop.
The wine-colored pinafore dress also comes in petite which you can find here.

Hello, everyone! Now that we're in mid-October and the weather is cooling down, it's really starting to feel like fall! This season, I want to break away from my (mostly) black and gray outfits and try adding some color. In today's post, I'm sharing a look with a bright pop of blue. Keep reading for outfit links and inspiration for adding pops of color to your outfits this season.
One easy way to add a pop of color to your outfit is through your accessories. I kept my clothing simple with a black and white color palette which made it easy to add any color accessories, in this case, a blue bag and earrings. You can also try adding a bright, colorful shoe or belt like some of the pieces below!
Play it Safe
Wearing a bright lip or sporting a colorful mani is another easy way to add subtle pops of color to anything you're wearing. I think fall is an especially fun time to play with bright lips because they're so unexpected!
Finally, for those of you who are brave enough, try adding a colorful coat or pant to really stand out this fall.
